Pricing reflects the visibility of the banner ads. As is common practice in the industry larger more predominantly displayed ads cost more because they produce better results. Smaller ads with lower placement cost less yet provide a good value for the exposure.

You have several run of site choices. Run of site ads show on every page each time a page is loaded. Wide banner ads are positioned at the top and the bottom of the page. Top billing with a full-sized 468 X 60 pixel banner ad will appear in 50% of all page views. (Major sponsor USBank enjoys the other 50%).

Additional wide full-size banners ads are available on the bottom of the pages. These Run of site banners show on a 100% ad rotation cycle.

Smaller ads like the Tall Banner are very useful in drawing people in. This 120 X 240 pixel ad provides excellent screen real estate at a strong price value. These ads are found on the right side of the page. These are place just where they need to be. When page visitors read left to right they finish each line looking toward the "right" ads. You can be there before you know it.

The final option are button ads. Despite their 120 X 60 pixel size they are placed on the stronger read left side. You may also request button ads on the right side. Button ads are most effective when there is a strong connection between the needs of the page visitor and the promotion touted on the button ad. These are an excellent value but require careful creation to be most effective.

Page predominance and ad size influence ad success but are not the driving force. What the ad says, how it is said and what action results from clicking the ad are what makes or breaks an ad campaign. People love a sale and being treated to a nice discount. Ad space is limited. Those with ads art work delivered or under contract for ad creation are given first shot at premium placement. Those gathering artwork or determining their promotion will be placed in a spot when their ads are delivered.

All ads must adhere to the guidelines listed below. Please assure your ads are the proper size dimensions and under the specified file size limits. This will assure your ads prompt placement.

The Winter/Spring 2007 Rate Sheet below reflects single month pricing. Months do not need to be calendar months but consist of 30 day runs. Fall rates and ads begin on August 1st so there will be no ads placed after July 1st, 2007. For the remainder of the 2006-2007 school year ads enjoy a 1:1 presentation ratio. (The Wide Banner Top ad which rotates on 1:2 ratio)

Ad Specifications

Wide Banner ads are 468 X 60 gif images less than 12.5 KB in size.
Tall Banner ads are 120 x 240 gif images less than 8 KB in size.
Button ads are 120 X 60 pixel gif images less than 4.5 KB in size.

Logo, display and subtle animation ads are allowed. Intercessional, Pop-up/behind, flash, java, JavaScript, forms and other intrusive or advanced “smart” ads are not allowed at this time. Ad costs include links to advertiser prepared home pages, landing pages or special promotional pages. Creative work for ad preparation and linked page creation are in addition to ad costs.

Ads need to be non-intrusive and tastefully match the UHSAA.org style. UHSAA and its advertising agent, iNET Advertising Service, maintain the right to refuse ads for any reason.
